Residential Garbage
A timely and professional waste collection service you can trust.
Knight Waste Services (KWS) provides a garbage collection service for the residents of Fort Worth in partnership with Waste Management and The City of Fort Worth. Once a week, our trucks efficiently collect your brown garbage cart from the curb. The garbage carts are offered in three sizes and can be ordered from the City of Fort Worth.
To ensure that we can collect your garbage cart safely and on time, we encourage that:
- Your garbage is placed inside a garbage bag before putting it in the cart
- The lid can be closed completely
- Bags left beside the cart will not be collected unless in city-issued Pay Bags
- Your cart must be placed at the curb by 7 am on collection day (you can put it out after 6 pm the night before).
- Place the cart so that the handle faces your home and the serial number faces the street.
- Your cart needs to be removed from the street view by midnight after pick-up.
- Your cart needs to be placed in front of your home for collection (when applicable).
The following items are considered hazardous and should not be placed in the garbage or recycling bins:
- Motor oil
- Electronics
- Paint
- Batteries
- Light bulbs
- Ionization chamber smoke detectors (ICSDs) smoke detectors
- Mercury thermometers.
